20 metre restart 

40/20 – a player kicks the ball from their 40 meter line to the opposition 20 meter line

Advantage – the play is allowed to continue if it is to the advantage of the team that hasn’t committed a penalty or infringement

Ankle tap – when someone gets touched on the ankle and trips over.

Backs – players that play in the back row positions.

Ball carrier – 

Ball carrying arm – 

Banana kick

Biff – fighting on the field.

Black dot – the black dot marking on the middle of the cross bar of the goal posts. No one knows why it is there.

Blind side – the side of the play/player closest to the touch line.

Bobble the ball – mishandling the ball.

Bomb – a type of kick where the ball is kicked very high in the air.

Charge Down – blocking the path of the ball with one’s body after it has been kicked by an opponent.

Completion rate

Conversion – the act of kicking a goal after scoring a try. A successful is worth 2 points.

Corner Post – a post placed at the intersection of each touch line and goal line (4 in total on the field)

Crusher tackle

Dead Ball – the ball has gone out of play.

Downward pressure

Drop Kick/Drop Goal — Scored by dropping the ball onto the ground before kicking the ball so that it passes between the posts and above the crossbar. Worth 1 point.

Dummy – pretending to play the ball (eg going to kick or pass the ball) but retaining possession of it instead.

Falcon – named after the great Mario Fenech; where the ball hits a player on the head and rebounds off
